Good morning, Nickita.
Sorry we couldn't connect yesterday.
Wanted to let you know that I am very interested in joining your team to provide excellent
evidence-based physical therapy home care to your clients. Unfortunately, it is
very difficult for me to commit to an interview early in the day due my
existing job. That being said, I don’t want to miss an opportunity to talk to you.
I’m hoping that you’ll take the time to read this and would be open to an initial
phone interview if you find my qualifications up to your standards (I am
confident that you will).
I have been a physical therapist in NY since 1986. My first
job was with the Hospital For Special Surgery (four years) where I had extensive
experience with THA and TKA patients. I then worked at a private orthopedic
practice (Physio Sports Center) for four years before opening my own practice
(RESTORE Physical Therapy, NYC) in 1993. I was the sole owner of RESTORE and had a
staff of as many as 10 employees at the peak of operations. In 2015 I sold my
practice to Orthology, Inc and continue to work full time for them, Monday
through Friday, 6:30 am through 2:30 pm. In addition to the above work history
I have also worked in home care through private MD referrals as well as through
Mary Immaculate Home Care in NYC in the early 1990’s.
I have always found home care to be a worthwhile and fun way
of treating patients. It forces the therapist to think outside the box due to
lack of traditional PT equipment. It also allows the therapist to help the patient
achieve real life goals, not just those established in the clinic setting. I believe
that home care treatments require more than just the instruction of basic
exercises. Manual therapy is often needed to restore normal joint kinematics
that may not have been achieved in the clinic or acute care hospital setting.
I am well knowledged in EMR systems and have extensive experience with WebPT and Clinicient.
I am mature, motivated and still enjoy being a physical therapist after 30 years of practice. I live in
Merrick, am married and have 2 daughters, one attending Seton Hall University and
the other a sophomore in High School.
My ideal situation would be to
have a part time position within your company, treating clients between 4:30 pm
and later. If you are looking for a full time PT I am open to discussing possibilities. Presently, I am available Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and weekends.
I could arrange to be available Mondays and Wednesdays as well if necessary.
You can call me on my cell
at 516.805.9291 any time to discuss things. If I am not available to answer when you call I will call you back ASAP.
Again, thank you for your consideration and for reading this.
I hope to speak soon.
Steven L. Braverman, PT CEAS II
